Rio Grande’s local out of Phippsburg to Craig passes the Edna Mine loadout at Edna, Colorado, on September 9, 1992. Two Rio Grande SD40T-2 Tunnel Motors power the train, that is mostly pipe bound for Craig, with one boxcar of beer will be spotted at a distributor at Steamboat. The large concrete silo was built in 1978 to accommodate larger unit trains, but the old single-car loader can still be seen in the background. Edna Mine and loadout was closed in 1996, and it is difficult to even know where it was after the reclamation of the surrounding landscape.
