When the weather turns cold, the track has alot of strain put on it with the contracting steel. Many joints can come apart, as is the case here at MP 268.4 on the CN Dubuque Sub. M337 has slowed down to a crawl as 3 maintenance of way personnel watch the train over 3 pull aparts between MP 268 and MP 269. Seen here, the crew barely got the bars on this joint enough to walk M337 over the pull apart. This has been done many times this week trying to keep trains moving on this cold week. That is one strong bolts!
