Plowing Without a Plow
A light GP15D plows through drifting snow on track 2 of the Northeast Corridor. The blizzard caused NJ Transit to cancel all service for the day. The limited service that Amtrak was able to provide primarily used the outer tracks 1 and 4 for east and westbound moves. Tracks 2 and 3 were covered by drifting snow, allowing for this dramatic view of an otherwise boring light engine move. Amtrak's GP15Ds are not equipped with any type of plow on the pilot, but that didn't seem to matter on this day.
