| A train with 140 cars of taconite pellets makes it's way down from U.S Steel's Minntac plant on a nice winters day headed to the yard at Proctor, MN and ultimately the docks at Duluth, MN. Minntac is one of three plants on Minnesota's Iron Range currently still operating and making product for the domestic steel industry. Five other mining operations in the area are current idled or shut down due to cheap foreign steel imports putting close to 2,000 employees out of work. |
