When setting the wing to push the drift back, one has to be very careful not to take too much snow. Get too much snow can cause the Jordan to lean and derail. Here the crew has the Jordan leaning to the left as they take a big swing at this drift! Made me nervous a couple times today, as I have derailed a Jordan from leaning too much in my IC&E days. It takes some getting use too on what the plow crew can get away with.
The crew would make a few passes thru this drift to get it pushed back. Using a GP40 for power was far from enough power to do the job right. A few times today it stalled out in notch 8 and the wings had to be pulled back to take less snow. |
