The thunderous roar emitted from a labored eastbound manifest reverberates through the Sierra Nevada as Union Pacific's Roseville, CA to North Platte, NE manifest contends with the western slope of Donner Pass. The lead motor, UP 7606, running point on the monster 'North Platte' is nearing the old station site of Cisco while the train itself is highlighting the curves and bends of the Roseville Sub. Near the center of the image is Shed 10 and to the right of that is the trestle over Butte Canon. On such a beautiful morning in the Sierra the distant Coastal Mountain range could almost be seen in the extreme distance.
