Everybody Needs at Least One
Every self respecting railroad photographer needs at least one decent shot at Sullivan's Curve. Whether you love Cajon or hate it no railfan can deny it's signature fame in this strange little hobby of ours. For generations Cajon has beckoned fans from all over the world an no shot bespeaks Cajon more than Sullivan's Curve.
Despite living far from Southern California I've been fortunate to visit a few times and on this may morning while waiting for the arrival of 3751 on her way east to the Grand Canyon I was fortunate to catch an Eastbound BNSF baretable train passing a southbound (westbound) UP manifest on the Mojave Sub (the ex SP Palmdale cutoff) with three unusually clean units on the point passing Canyon Siding.
It's scenes like this that keep the fans coming back year after year after year....I do think I'll be back again someday... |
