Absent the last few seasons on the mountain, Tehachapi's Spring wildflowers make their colorful return, brought up by winter rainfall. Slipping down the western slope of the Tehachapi's a westbound manifest of 'empty Eugenes' is held back by a four pack of Union Pacific GEs, aided by a fifth unit on the rear. The train highlights the Mojave Subdivision's path as it drops down into Caliente after leaving the bottom end of Bealville, passing through tunnels 2 & 1 in the process, the latter being just above image center.
