The LSRC's predecessor Detroit & Mackinac was historically home to a fleet of Alco diesels. The LSRC carried on that tradition into the 2000s until the fleet (minus the 469) was scrapped in 2011. All that remains of the once proud Alco fleet are the trucks in the foreground. Now, the 4300 series GP40-3 Alco killers sit stored, having proved themselves unreliable, alongside the Saginaw roundhouse, much like the retired Alco fleet did. The units have since left the property. Photo taken with the permission of the Lake State Railway.
