Remarks & Notes |
The Twilight Years: Amtrak's AEM-7 fleet has served the railroad well for over 35 years. They plied the Northeast Corridor for almost as long as the venerable GG1 electrics they replaced. But now, it is the AEM-7 that must fade into the history books. As of late February 2016, only 3 of these workhorses remain in active duty and their days are most definitely numbered. Seen here just a year earlier, AEM-7AC number 940 has a regional flying south through Massachusetts in the cold morning air. |
