| The pusher of the Lexington Branch trash train has crested the slight grade west of Ashland and is now ducking into the modified Ashland tunnel, less than a mile from the junction with the Kanawha Subdivision. A far cry from the days of 55MPH passenger trains dashing for Lexington and points west, these smelly lumbering trains of Northeast trash are on their last legs, as the trains are due to disappear following an intense legal battle between the citizens of Boyd County and Big Run Landfill. |
