Remarks & Notes |
A westbound train rolls up and down the undulating grade as they march toward the Oldcastle Materials Sudduth quarry for another load of Central Texas aggregate. This operation is unique in that the customers power stays on the train over the railroad between the locations of loading and unloading. The customers locomotives are dedicated to the service and Austin Western crews operate the trains between the two Oldcastle locations. The locomotive was built as an SD45T-2, but has been rebuilt and is blue carded as an SD40-2. |
