It was bitter cold early April morning in central North Carolina as NS 958 "The Blue Ridge Special" being led by Norfolk & Western J-Class 611 slowly pound its way east through the rual town of Cleveland, NC (MP-12.0 Cleveland) on the NS Asheville District. with 20 passenger cars and two diesel at assist the train part of the way, it was like October 24, 1993 again where this same 4-8-4 with 20 passenger cars, and two diesel as assist ran on this very same line during its public excursion run back in the final years of the NS Steam Program in the 90s.
