Just west of Phoenicia is one of the worst remaining washouts on the Catskill Mountain Railroad, one which severs the line from its western end and will require major funding initiatives to repair. In the meantime, the CMRR's volunteers are hard at work clearing trees, brush and other debris from the usable portions of the line. Pictured here is a speeder being utilized by such a tree crew awaiting battery servicing at the closest access point to the nearby road.
