| More than five years ago, the Shibanxi was a freight haulling real narrow gauge. On a hot day in April 2011, C2 0-8-0 #10 burst from LaoYingZui Tunnel with a heavy train of empty coal cars bound for the mine at Bagou. LaoYingZui Tunnel lies in the midst of a tough 3.9% grade and it was one of the many scenic highlights on the Shibanxi Narrow Gauge Railway. Now, the coal trains have ceased but hourly tourist trains are still hauled behind C2 locomotives like #10. |
