| Western Virginia is a very scenic place and the small town of Shawsville is no exception. The Norfolk Southern (former Norfolk & Western) Christiansburg district runs through the center of town and passes the open farm land that defines the area. Standing in the driveway of many of the farms one can witness up to 40 trains a day on the mainline. Seen here a NS mixed freight heads West from Roanoke and charges up the grade. |
