With a length of 273m and a height of 73m the Viaduc de Cize-Bolozon is the most impressive structure of the french Haut-Bugey line.
The line between Bellegarde-sur-Valserine and Bourg-en-Bresse was reactivated and particularly upgraded some years ago for having a faster and more direct line for TGV services from Geneva to Paris. Still the line has steep grades and a rather slow maximum speed of 120 km/h for TGV services - but it helps to cut down the journey times between the two cities by 30 minutes. Here a TGV-Duplex as a Geneva to Paris service is crossing the impressive bridge.
