| On the first day of revenue passenger trains in 63 years, a set of elderly Nippon cars heads west into Santa Monica. While most of this route is built on the old Los Angeles & Independence (Santa Monica Air Line) ROW, this last section into downtown had to be moved out onto the street because of buildings in the ROW since abandonment.
