Three of BNSF' finest locomotives roar with life as they tackle to steep 1.4 percent grade through Crozier Canyon during a late spring morning. Originally named Truxton Canyon, the canyon was renamed to Crozier for the late 1800s cattle rancher, Sam Crozier. Crozier had a ranch near the canyon and owned nearly all of the land in the region and range cattle. Today, the Crozier Ranch still runs cattle up and down the canyon and surrounding area. The ranch has some 9,000 acres and run some 1,300 cattle.
