For anyone familiar with BNSF's Front Range Subdivision, there are two things in this photo that are an uncommon sight:
1) It's a triple meet. The subdivision doesn't have that much traffic for meets like this to take place on a daily basis.
2) Amtrak is in the photo. This is not an Amtrak route. It was a passenger route during the C&S days.
Seen here, trying to speed up the meet process, both the Laurel, Montana to Denver, Colorado manifest and the Cheyenne, Wyoming to Denver manifest clear up in the 7,685-foot passing siding at Longs Peak. Once in the clear, the Front Range Explorer Special can depart north for Cheyenne and eventually its next stop of Gillette, Wyoming on June 3, 2016.
