| What I believe is the last active ex-IC SW14 takes the R98081 local across 99th Street on the old EJ&E Lakefront Line. The train will continue along Calumet Park on the "East Side" of the city to the Port of Chicago less than a mile away. There were a total of 112 SW14s rebuilt from SW7s and SW9s by the Illinois Central at their Paducah Shops between 1978 & 1982. While this may be the lone survivor on the CN, a handful have found new homes at various industries around the country. |
