The well-worn 942, doubleheading with sister unit 946, is ready to pull Amtrak's special "Farewell to the AEM-7 Excursion," Train No. 942, scheduled for a 9:10 a.m. departure from Track 14. The train performed a runby at MARC's Halethorpe, MD station, and then proceeded to Philadelphia for wyeing. At Zoo Tower, the train reversed through the old PRR "Philadelphia to Pittsburgh Subway" and ran to Amtrak's Wilmington Maintenance Facility for a shop tour for the train's 476 passengers. All in all a very successful trip; thanks to Amtrak and MARC for making the day possible.
