End of an Era: For 37 years, the AEM-7 electric locomotives pulled Amtrak trains along the northern east coast of the United States. They were the first successful electric locomotives Amtrak purchased new. Now, they are all but retired. On Saturday June 18th, 2016, Amtrak ran a "Farewell" excursion for these venerable workhorses. Here, we see the train crossing the Bush River as it heads south for Washington D.C.
