Bathed in late afternoon sun light the vibrant hills of southern California's San Timoteo Canyon are alive with the sound of whining dynamics and squealing wheels as a westbound Z train emerges from the serpentine confines of the canyon. Looming over the scene in the distance is Mount San Jacinto.
