Remarks & Notes |
The Federal Railroad Administration had their two geometry cars running over the Seligman Subdivision today. They were picked up this morning in Williams from the Grand Canyon Railway; who had their tracks inspected on Sunday. The FRA uses high tech computers on board these cars to inspect the tracks. As the train was going through one of the rock cuts surrounding the Valentine area, the inspector on one of the cars informing the dispatcher there will be a speed restriction of 60 MPH through the crossover switches at Cherokee (Truxton) on track 1. Soon, a BNSF inspector will go out and inspect the track for further evaluation. These FRA cars usually come through once a year. BNSF has their own "Geo" cars they use to inspect their own tracks about once a month. |
