Remarks & Notes |
Georgia Central job L782 with a five pack of GE U23B's pull past the junction at Vidalia where Heart of Georgia (HOG) GP40 #1740 waits to pick up intermodal loads from the tail end of L782. GC L782 was running a combination train of coal and intermodal from Savannah to Vidalia this day with the intermodal continuing west on the HOG to the new inland port at Cordele and the coal continuing behind the U-Boats to SP Newsprint outside Dublin.
This was my first time visiting the Georgia Central and damn I wish I had made more trips. Being a broke college kid with a car that was questionable on long distance trips at the time didn't help out any. |
