Two locomotives of the 185 series of DB AG with a freight from Bodio to Weil am Rhein is crossing the 140 meter long, 56 meter high Cherstelenbach bridge over the Bristentobel gorge at Amsteg. When built in 1882, this was a truss bridge, rebuilt in 1970 with combined steel/concrete girders on the remaining pillars. on the right the pressure line of the Amsteg hydroelectric plant (not in use anymore since 1998). The new built power station (1993 to 1998) and pressure line are completely underground now and have a power of 120 MW, with an anual production of 450 GWh.
