I will admit I was not excited when I heard the leader, but upon doing some more research, I am perfectly ok with it. Originally a GMD SD40,only 28 of these units were rebuilt by the CN in the 90's, giving them their uniquely Canadian look. As far as I can tell, only 25 survive today, and what are the odds they would end up in the north woods of Minnesota hauling taconite pellets?! Heading for home through Stewart, #6024 and sister #6017 hold the loads back.
