| Feilding & District Steam Rail "high voltage" excursion train from Feilding to National Park approaches Mataroa tunnel on the long ascent of the volcanic plateau, mostly at 2% grade. The EF class electric was built by Brush Traction in UK and entered service on the newly electrified section of the North Island Main Trunk in 1988. |
