After a 3 year absence from the mainline, UP 844 is back in service pulling the Cheyenne Frontier Days Denver Post Special, seen here at Sand Creek, CP W005 on the UP Greeley Sub. Today the special ran as UP Train PDVDV1 23, with UP 1989, the Rio Grande Heritage Locomotive behind the auxiliary water tender for dynamic brakes and for power at times.
Also, you'll notice that the red oscillating Mars Light has not been reinstalled on the FEF-3's smokebox door, which gives it quite a different appearance from the front, but also still looks very classy.
