| Often forgotten and at times neglected, the mainline that stretches from Ronkonkoma to Greenport goes through some of the most scenic parts of Long Island. We are passing through the heart of wine country on the North Fork, where private crossings are a plenty through the vineyards and corn fields showcasing a variety of farm equipment. A nice departure from the densely populated west end neighborhoods the LIRR passes through. |
