What could be every little boy’s dream is to ride in the front of a dome car and see the railroad in a view similar to the engineer. Surely desirable by a lot of adults too! Here, while riding VIA Rail No. 5, a small boy watches in fascination out the dome window in “Strathcona Park” of the approaching 315-foot tunnel at mile 6.6 on Canadian National’s Albreda Subdivision between Wynd and Geikie on on August 5, 2016. VIA Rail train Nos. 5 and 6 operate between Jasper, Alberta, and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, and are perfect “vest pocket” streamliners. This train consists of F40PH-3 No. 6414, a baggage car, a coach and bringing up the markers, a classy dome-observation.
