With Empire mine shut down, and only ore reserves on the ground available for loading, CN ore trains will soon be ending. Granted the ore traffic from neighboring Tilden mine will still run and one CN train will still run ore that is loaded out of Tilden, there will be no Jennies loaded at Empire. After making a very unusual trip to Eagle Mills with a train of empties for LS&I, U742 departs Empire with a train destined for Escanaba. I don't know if I was trespassing or not, but the folks at Cliffs can get over it.
