The Burlington Northern logo is rare to see on any of today’s locomotives, but can still be seen on two BN C30-7s at Alliance, Nebraska. The rust-flecked white logo is seen on the cab of BN 5549 on May 23, 2014. After an active life hauling coal trains, Nos. 5545 and 5549 spent their later years as back-up generators for the Alliance Locomotive Shop. The two now wait their fate on an old elevator track at the end of Platte Avenue on the north side of Alliance yard.
