When you walk up next to a full-sized steam locomotive, it's it's almost always something that towers over you. Now remembering how impressive that sight was for you, imagine the somewhat odd awe I was put in as GCRY 29 came into view and was framed beneath this towering pine tree as it entered Coconino Canyon. Only the locomotive's smoke, billowing out here as the engine began to ascend the grade for the final push toward the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, could rise taller than the tree.
