The triweekly Madison District local, G07 makes it's way south towards Macon on the F Line as it passes the now defunct Feldspar Mining plant between Monticello and Hillsboro, Georgia in rural Jasper County with the soon to disappear high hood GP38-2 model. After 57 years of operations, the Feldspar Mining plant south of Monticello was targeted for closure on December 31, 2013 due to the fact there was no additional potassium feldspar ore left in the area. In 2012, the Feldspar Corporation at Spruce Pine, North Carolina conducted trials in preparation for the Monticello Plant's closing to produce a potassium feldspar of similar quality. The Monticello Plant on average produced 10 to 15 outbound loads a day for the Madison District, this loss in business is missed by the veteran crews to this day.
