Remarks & Notes
Washington & Idaho SD9 WRIX 602 and SD40-2 WRIX 3000 return north with a new train load of propane cars at MP 41 north of Belmont, WA. Some portions of the short line have welded rail, but not here. So-called "Dick weeds" bow toward the train as it undulates over the hog-backed rail at 10 mph with nearly 100 ton propane loads. The lead grain car was added by the crew before starting the southbound trip at McCoy to serve as a buffer car. The flange lift sign gives away the BN heritage of this line.
