Remarks & Notes
They say Oz (aka Australia) is a magical place and the night of October 18 did not let me down. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would lens a train and a moonbow in a night photo, much less did I know that moonbows even existed until the night of October 18, when Kev Shultz invited me out to do night photos of C-Class #501 in the Junee Yard. We arrived at the yard at 2200 hrs (local Australian time) and as we began to set up lights, a line of passing showers rolled through. As we awaited the passage, the large moon appeared from behind us but with rain still falling overhead and to the east. As I examined the sky I spied a moonbow - I told Kev to check it out and sure enough, we saw not just one, but two! I quickly moved the camera away from the planned C-class shot facing west to the nearby GrainCorp Alco/Goodwin DL531 locomotive and framed up the double moonbow with a few lights on a 6 second exposure. Many thanks to Kev Shultz for having me out for this unplanned phenomenal event.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
