| The late morning departure of the KiwiRail train #736 allows for a different vantage point than the previous norm for this train as it passes through the community of Oaro, which is nestled between NZ Highway 1 and the South Pacific Ocean on New Zealand's east coast. #736 hustles containers and intermodal traffic north for Picton, NZ behind a pair of DXC class GE U26C locomotives - KiwiRail 5241 and 5500. The scene is interesting in that the village people (not the band) seem to come out and watch the passing train - complete with one gentleman standing on his deck and another young lady video-ing the train with her smart phone. |
