Remarks & Notes |
A Union Pacific freight prepares to enter the platforms of Dallas Union Station as an inbound DART light rail vehicle slows for a station stop. In the distance, rush hour traffic is starting to build on Interstate 35E.
The roadway in the shadows to the right of the light rail train is Elm Street and the location of the John F. Kennedy assassination. The building atop the hill (with the parking lot to the left) is the Texas School Book Depository, where Lee Harvey Oswald fired the fatal shots from a sixth floor window.
Also visible in the parking lot is Dallas Union Station Tower 106, which opened in 1916 and controlled all movements on the north end of the station. |
