Back in April a business trip took me to Florida, and since I'd never railfanned the Sunshine State I tacked on a couple vacation days and met a friend for a 4 day epic 1000 mile tour of the state. This shot is my favorite of that adventure, but I got many other great views that I will have to share later.
Here we see a very long SCFE Fort Pierce turn returning to Clewiston with a US Sugar GP11 and GP38-2 combo leading. They are crossing the St. Lucie canal at Port Mayaca on the former FEC K-Line branch in perfect early evening light. This was a long chase, a long walk, and an even longer wait but I think you'll agree the results are worth it.
