Back when capacity for Powder River coal traffic was a serious issue on the North Platte Sub, returning empties were often routed out the mainline to Egbert, WY and thence up the Yoder Sub to rejoin the coal line - allowing for more expeditious movement of the loads between South Morrill and North Platte. One of these "Yoder detours" storms through Ogallala, NE on a winter afternoon.
