Rio Grande to the rescue! Due to mechanical ills plaguing the road power, a point helper was called to assist a late running Union Pacific Denver to Salt Lake City UPS (and Coors beer) train from Helper to Soldier Summit on August 12, 2000. The helper set included D&RGW SD40T-2s No. 5354, 5406, and 5392 while the troublesome road power included UP SD40-2s No. 3479 and 3516.
