Remarks & Notes |
Nickel Plate in 'Espee Country'. With a solid set of 'run through' power leading the charge, a westbound Union Pacific shooter pulls the grade up the eastern slope of Beaumont Hill approaching Banning on the old Southern Pacific Sunset Route. Leading the consist of Norfolk Southern motors is NS 8100, painted to honor the Nickel Plate Road. 8100 is one of twenty 'fallen-flag heritage' painted NS road motors. |
