| Madras, Georgia lies several miles north of Newnan in unincorporated Coweta County along CSXT's A&WP/WofA Subdivision. It was once a Flag Stop which was served by the railroad and in later years by the Central of Georgia's Man O' War which ran the A&WP via trackage rights from East Point to Newnan. The small depot still stands alongside the mainline today and is seen as Montgomery bound train, Q617 races by with an SD40-3 leader on December 16, 2016. The depot today is now under private ownership and is nothing more than a storage shed. There was also a short siding located between the depot and the mainline which was removed in the early 1960s. |
