A westbound Kyle plow extra derailed on a icy crossing at Kanorado, Kansas, on January 2, 2007, and fortunately no one was injured in the mishap. In this view looking west not long after the derailment shows the rear of the plow train with former Santa Fe and HTCX SD45-2 (labeled a SD40-2R) No. 6486. EMD CEFX SD45T-2 No. 9282 leaned over with the plow, and derailed trailing sister No. 9245, leaving No. 6486 still on the rails. In the next day or so, the locomotives will be rerailed and track repaired. Wrecked plow MWK 06 didn’t fair so well. It was simply left there for the winter, finally cut up for scrap after languishing there for a couple years.
