Looking Back At 2016
When it comes to trains, it's hard to beat the "Queen of Steam". Here we have jumped back to the month of May when the 611 made her excursion runs on the mainline. In this photo, the Norfolk & Western No. 611 pulls "The Pelican" under the classic coaling tower at Vicker, just west of Christiansburg and continues westbound to make the turn at Walton. These large scale trips are always worth it to me, even though sometimes you have to squeeze in between 100 people to get a shot, you make new friends and meet up with several you already know.
