All we need is a paint brush and some B&O Blue. The Parkersburg Yard job pulls 12 cars dropped off by one of the two road freights into the Low Yard and prepares to head back out the transfer track to the High Yard and spot the cars at local industries, while power for one of the road locals idles on the north side of the yard. Traffic is way down from the days of the B&O, when several timetable freights traversed the line between Huntington and Wheeling daily, serving dozens of industries along the 211 mile line. Even with the abandonment of the Parkersburg Branch east and west of here, Parkersburg remains a vital operation in the Ohio Valley with several chemical plants and fracking operations coming online.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
