A pair of SD70MACs lead the short little northbound Saturday Winter Aurora passenger train out of the end of the road village of Talkeetna and into the wilds of the last frontier. The train is crossing the Talkeetna River right where it joins with the Chulitna. Just to the left is the wide and mighty Susitna River flowing down from the glaciers of the Alaska Range which dominate this scene. From left to right are Mt. Foraker, Mt. Hunter, and Denali - North America's highest peak at 23,310 ft.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
