After pulling 3 cars at KCT 12th Street Yard, the SW1200 and its short KCT Train 217 wait to enter BN 1 and proceed back to Mill Street.
The switcher turns 58 this month, built in February 1957 for the Northern Pacific Railway as NP 148, builder number 22750, frame number 4379-2. In the 1970 Burlington Northern Merger, it became BN 207 before being sold to Watco. This one was built with MU capabilities, and spent a lot of time in the Pacific Northwest around Portland, OR and Seattle, WA. The paint scheme it was delivered from EMD in wasn't that dissimilar from this one--it was black and yellow. The engine still sports its pilot handrail even though its footboards have been gone for decades.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
